The example below shows how to add a navigation bar button (called a UIBarButtonItem
) in the Interface Builder.
Select your View Controller and then in the Xcode menu choose Editor > Embed In > Navigation Controller.
Alternatively, you could add a UINavigationBar
from the Object Library.
Drag a UIBarButtonItem
from the Object Library to the top navigation bar.
It should look like this:
You could double-click "Item" to change the text to something like "Refresh", but there is an actual icon for Refresh that you can use. Just select the Attributes Inspector for the UIBarButtonItem
and for System Item choose Refresh.
That will give you the default Refresh icon.
Control drag from the UIBarButtonItem
to the View Controller to add an @IBAction
.
class ViewController: UIViewController {
@IBAction func refreshBarButtonItemTap(sender: UIBarButtonItem) {
print("How refreshing!")
}
}
That's it.
